DATING SAFETY GUIDELINES
Version: 1.0.0
Effective Date: September 30, 2026
Meeting new people online is exciting, but your personal safety must always come first. While we employ moderation tools (like spam filters and report mechanisms) to keep the platform as safe as possible, we do not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification on our users.
You are in control of your dating experience. Please read and follow these safety guidelines carefully. By using the app, you acknowledge that the Platform cannot control the real-world actions of its users.
1. ONLINE SAFETY (ON THE PLATFORM)
Never Send Money or Share Financial Information
Never send money, wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards to someone you meet on the app, even if they claim to be in a severe emergency. Romance scammers are highly sophisticated and may spend weeks building trust before asking for money.
- Rule of Thumb: If someone asks for money, report them immediately.
Protect Your Personal Information
Do not share highly sensitive personal information on your profile or in early messages.
- Keep your home address, exact workplace, personal phone number, and national ID/Passport numbers private.
- Be cautious about sharing details about your daily routine (e.g., "I always go to X gym at 7 PM").
Beware of Off-Platform Red Flags
Scammers and malicious users often try to move the conversation off the app (e.g., to WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS) very quickly.
- Why? Because our Trust & Safety team cannot protect you, moderate content, or review reports for conversations that happen outside our platform. Keep conversations on the app until you have verified the person's identity and feel completely comfortable.
Protect Yourself Against Sextortion (Blackmail)
Do not send compromising, intimate, or nude photographs to strangers. Scammers may record video calls or save photos and threaten to send them to your friends, family, or employer unless you pay them (Sextortion). If this happens to you, do not pay. Report the user to us and contact local law enforcement.
2. OFFLINE SAFETY (MEETING IN REAL LIFE)
Stay in Public and Tell a Friend
If you decide to meet someone in person:
- Always meet in a populated, public place. Never meet at your home, their home, or a secluded location for a first date.
- Tell a friend or family member. Let someone know who you are meeting, where you are going, and when you expect to be back. Share your live location with a trusted friend using your phone's OS features (e.g., Find My, Google Maps).
Control Your Own Transportation
Do not accept a ride from your date on the first meeting. Drive yourself, take a taxi, use a rideshare app, or take public transportation. You need to be able to leave on your own terms at any time.
Watch Your Drinks and Belongings
Know where your drink comes from and know where it is at all times. Never leave your drink unattended. If you go to the bathroom, take your drink with you or get a new one. Keep your phone, wallet, and keys with you.
Trust Your Instincts
If you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or if the person is acting aggressively, leave immediately. You do not owe the other person an explanation. If you feel in danger, ask a bartender or waiter for help (many bars have "Ask for Angela" or similar safety protocols), or call emergency services.
3. PLATFORM LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
Please remember: The Platform provides a digital matching service. We are not a private investigation firm, nor do we guarantee the offline safety of our users.
- We cannot verify that every user is presenting their true identity.
- We are not liable for any physical, emotional, or financial harm that results from your interactions with other users, whether online or offline.
- If you experience an emergency, a crime, or an assault, you must contact local law enforcement (e.g., 911, 112) immediately. Our reporting button is not a replacement for emergency services.
4. HOW TO REPORT INCIDENTS
If you have a negative or unsafe experience with someone:
- Block them: They will no longer be able to see your profile or message you.
- Report them: Use the in-app reporting tool. Provide as much detail as possible.
- Law Enforcement: If a crime occurred (assault, fraud, stalking), report it to the police. We cooperate fully with valid law enforcement requests for data.
